Welcome to the Health Program
1999-2000
ASK-HAP is a program developed to provide humanitarian aid to Iraqi Kurds. More specifically, it develops programs to improve the lives of children of Kurdistan. ASK-HAP consists of a Health Program and a Nutrition Program.
ASK-HAP was established in the city of Sulaymania (see the photos of the city) in January 1999.
The aim of the Health
Program is to provide elementary school children of Kurdistan (ages
6 to 12 years) with basic health treatment. The project's services are limited
because there are more than 250 thousand children within that age range. At
present, the Health Program consists of:
(1) Health Education,
(2) Medical Services, and
(3) School Health Program.
The other ASK project is Nutrition
Program, which is still under development. Its aim is to provide
Kurdish children (ages 6 to 12 years) with basic services regarding nutrition.
At present, the Nutrition Program consists of
(1) Nutrition Education and
(2) Nutrition Surveys.
